Our Leaders

Event Directors

Each Teen Service Week experience is headed by a Directing Team. These individuals have completed at least three years of service, are members of the Core Group, and are elected by the Core Group.

Directors serve as a liaison to the TSW community which includes Core Group, Sponsors, Teens, Families, Host Site, Work Sites, Parishes, and other supportive parties. They manage finances, balance the annual budget, lead team meetings, coordinate the activities of the week, and build community through communication, prayer, and service. Additionally, throughout the week, the Directors lead orientation, prayer, team meetings, communicate expectations and enforce responsibilities of the week, visit service sites, provide encouragement to adults and teenagers, and conduct evaluations.

Peer Ministers

Peer Ministers are alums of Teen Service Week who are at least 19 years of age and have completed at least one year of service.

Peer Ministers are selected by Core Group to act as liaisons between the teens and the larger team. They serve as unique advocates for participating teens while training to become future adult team members. Peer Ministers bring enthusiasm and energy to the week in serving the teens through role modeling, sharing past TSW experiences, and speaking on behalf of the teens. They also challenge adult team members with fresh ideas.

Core Team

Teen Service Week is organized by a core group of adults who meet throughout the year. These members are faithful to the spirit of TSW and provide support to the larger team. They are responsible for electing the Directing Team as well as reviewing and evaluating the TSW program. Additionally, they determine the structure, organization, and direction of the program, select the theme, and maintain relationships with our service sites, homesite, funders, partners, community members, and interested individuals.
